Founded 1906. The brewery was in operation until 1960 supplying the free trade only and not brewing continuously. Brewing recommenced July 1982 in a new brewhouse. Following a takeover by Kitwave, a wholesaler from North Tyneside, brewing ceased here in about 2017, but the company still trades as a drinks distributor and small pubco.
