George Middleton, Frank's Arms, Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire.

In 1801 Thomas Allen was the victualler at the pub, which was for sale in the November as a result of his bankruptcy. This included the sale of his brewing vessels. This may be the same property which was described as “a newly erected freehold pub and malting in the middle of the village, details available from Mrs Herrick”.

In 1870 Sarah Ann Higgin was shown as a grocer and beer retailer, with Mrs Ann Lane running the un-named beerhouse in 1884. Then in 1892 George Middleton was shown as being at the Frank’s Arms. In 1908 he was a beer and wine retailer and was also identified as a brewer. He continued to brew until 1920 (F4811). However, in 1922 he was listed only as a beer retailer.

It is possible that this may have become the Francis Arms, Huncote Road.
