Frederick Harper

Frederick Harper, Derwent Brewery, Staithe Street, Bubwith, East Yorkshire.

Brewing at the site probably dated from before 1823.

Kelly’s Directory of 1877 lists Robert Lamb as brewer and maltster.

By 1892, R Lamb & Son brewers at Spaldington had acquired the site, which was later used by Harper.

In 1902 F H Harper was a bankrupt brewer and maltster.

Although the brewery has been demolished, the brewer’s house, dating from 1747, remains.
