James Fairhurst Ltd, Warrington Lane, Liverpool City Centre, Merseyside.

In 1877 Elizabeth Fairhurst at the Brewers Arms, 61 Chapel Lane, noting that there were family links with Swifts, previously brewers.

James mentioned in 1878 and in 1895 his son Thomas, until his death in February 1912.

Private company registered 1915. However, 57 of their tied houses were offered for sale 8th April 1920, 11 being sold for £66,700, 6 of these to Walker Cain Ltd and 10 to Greenall Whitley & Co. Ltd, the remainder were withdrawn.

Ceased brewing in the August, with some vessels sold to Lonsdale & Adshead Ltd of Macclesfield.

Wound up 25th January 1921 and Burtonwood Brewery Co.(Forshaw) Ltd acquired most of the remaining estate in 1925.

Possibly a family connections with Ansells Brewery Ltd.
