Brewing commenced 2003. Amalgamated with the Crown Brewery of Sheffield in 2004.
They purchased the Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield, in March 2004 and also brewed under the name Wellington Brewery.
The pub was sold during 2006 and Edale continued to brew on their original plant before closing shortly after.
