The Double Maxim Beer Co (formed by former senior staff at [[Vaux Breweries Ltd]] just after its still-lamented demise 20 years ago) successfully brew cherished Vaux brands (Double Maxim, Samson, Wards and Lambtons) as well as their own new beers, at Houghton-le-Spring just 5 miles away from this new brewery; and although the new Vaux has made it clear that it is not replicating old Vaux products but is essentially aiming to perpetuate the name (which is great!), there is likely to be some sensitivity here.
