Keddie purchased the Caledonian Brewery, Canongate and Queen Street in 1894 and by his death in 1900 had transferred his business.

Charles Allen “understood to have purchased” the Friars Burn Brewery in 1896.

Owned by Thorp Brothers by 1910, who brewed at the Caledonian Brewery Co. Ltd.
