Originally a four barrel brewery was set up in the Prince of Wales pub in Princetown and was later replaced by a 15 barrel unit. With a £1m investment it moved 200m down the road in 2005.
Jail Ale at 4.8% ABV with 5% crystal is bittered with Challenger and Northern Brewer and late hopped with Goldings.
Dartmoor is 4.0% IPA standing for Inmates Pale Ale
The third Dartmoor beer is Legend at 4.4%ABV with more malt and less hops than the other beers
Britain's highest brewery stands on the site of the old Princetown railway station at 1427 feet above sea level (435 m). Built on Duchy of Cornwall land the building had to be designed by the Prince of Wales’ architect

Originally a wet DENA mill was installed. The dry grist is noe hydrated in a piece of drain pipe above the lauter tun
