Crown & Cushion, 133 Westminster Bridge Road, Lambeth North, London SE1 7HR

Formerly a Truman, Hanbury & Buxton & Co. Ltd house. By architect A E Sewell, 1930s. Over each of the two entrance doors is a fine plaster representation of a crown resting on a cushion and below in a roundel an eagle on a rock - the Truman trademark. Some original panelling survives inside, and there are the remains of gold lettering including: 'EAGLE STOUT', 'BARLEY WINE', BEN TRUMAN', 'EAGLE ALE' and 'IMPERIAL STOUT'.
