Floor to ceiling windows gave M4 travellers a view of the two 800 barrel capacity coppers used in the brew house and provided the operatives with a pleasant working environment.
The massive cylindrical fermenting vessels extend vertically above the full height of the brewery. There were 22 fermenting vessels of 1,540 barrels and two of 770 barrels capacity.

Courage Ltd, Imperial Way, Worton Grange, Reading, Berkshire.

The site was acquired in 1978 and this large modern brewery became operational in 1980 to replace the former Simonds Ltd brewery in Bridge Street, Reading.
