Founded by 1635. A "Mr Thomas Coole Brewer" is shown on a map of 1635 occupying the position where Twickenham railway station is today. Later it moved diagonally across the road, and it was owned by the same family for more than 260 years. (ref Martyn Cornell)

Leased to Brandon's Brewery Ltd of Putney in 1896. They purchased the freehold in 1898 and brewing ceased in 1906.
