Clun Brewery, The White Horse Inn, The Square, Clun, Shropshire.

They commenced brewing just for The White Horse in Autumn 2007. See also:- Elizabeth Graves.

The Clun Brewery was founded in 2007 by business partners Matt Williamson (at the time a rocket scientist) and Jack Limond (Publican at the White Horse Inn, Clun) Designed to create great tasting hoppy, easy drinking ales made locally for the White Horse Inn.

From 2007 until January 2011 they brewed a nine gallon double mash in an old burco boiler. Producing nine gallons of beer once or twice a month.

In 2011 the brewery was upgraded to a 2.5 BBL plant that seldom has managed to get above the 2BBL production. Brands have been continually honed till in 2019, there were five regular brews:-

  • Loophole 3.5%
  • Clun Pale Ale 4.1%
  • Solar 4.3%
  • Green Man 4.4%
  • Citadel 5.9%

as well as seasonal brews such as the Green Hop

Current production is 2BBL brewed every other day 7 days a week.

They hope the to enlarge the brewery again very soon. (2019)
