Commercial brewhouse established in 1830s by William Clinch although the Eagle Brewery had its roots in the Bolton family business. Registered 1892 and again in 1950.

Acquired by Courage, Barclay & Simonds Ltd. 1962 with 74 tied houses. Ceased brewing 1963 and the brewery was mainly demolished c.1979. The former maltings was later used by Glenny Brewery and Wychwood Brewery Ltd.
