Registered February 1897 to acquire Bowden & Co.
John Bowden founded the Royal Brewery in Fulham Road during the mid-nineteenth century. The business was moved to Chelsea in the 1880s and the brewery was renamed the Royal Chelsea Brewery.  


Merged with the [[Welch Ale Brewery Ltd]]. March 1901.
Registered in 1897 as the Chelsea Brewery Co. Ltd to acquire Bowden & Co. The company took over Smith’s [[Welch Ale Brewery Ltd]], Old Kent Road, in 1900 and changed its name to the [[Welch Ale Brewery Ltd]].  
 
Acquired by [[Watney, Combe, Reid & Co. Ltd]]. with 80 houses in 1920. In 1924 converted into a wine and spirits department as the Cremorne Gate Cellars.
 
Buildings remain.
