Charles Butcher, Ballingdon Street, Ballingdon, Essex.

Listed in 1859 as Edmund Butcher but from 1868 to 1882 the business was owned by Charles Butcher, probably Edmund's son.

Charles also had interests as a maltster and coal merchant in Hall Street, Long Melford, Suffolk. The site of the brewery was immediately adjacent to the high railway embankment and road bridge, today there remains only a few boundary walls and entrance gate brick piers.

The brewery was purchased by the Colchester Brewing Co. Ltd.
