In 1870, Benjamin Faville Carr built a brewery in Okehampton Street and was joined in a partnership by Mr Quick. Incorporated in 1890. In 1909, acquired the West of England Brewery and 7 pubs from W H Morton and thought to have moved their operation there.
In 1927, ceased brewing although continued as bottlers in Paul Street until acquired by Bass, Ratcliff & Gretton Ltd in 1939.
