Previously homebrew at the Woolpack pub. Registered June 1895. Acquired by the [[Phoenix Brewery Co. Ltd]] in 1898 with 6 houses and brewing ceased, although it is still shown on the OS map in 1907. The following pubs were owned by the brewery: Woolpack; Gooden Inn, Gooden Lane; White Horse, Thomas Street Hopwood; Gladstone Arms, Halifax Road Rochdale; Craven Heifer, Rochdale; Blue Bell, New Road Dearnley.
 
Some time after 1907, the Phoenix Brewery (re)built the [[Woolpack Inn, Heywood|Woolpack pub]] on nearby Birch Street.

Brierley's Woolpack Brewery Ltd, Woolpack Brewery, Mount Street, Heywood, Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

Previously homebrew at the Woolpack pub. Registered June 1895. Acquired by the Phoenix Brewery Co. Ltd in 1898 with 6 houses and brewing ceased, although it is still shown on the OS map in 1907. The following pubs were owned by the brewery: Woolpack; Gooden Inn, Gooden Lane; White Horse, Thomas Street Hopwood; Gladstone Arms, Halifax Road Rochdale; Craven Heifer, Rochdale; Blue Bell, New Road Dearnley.

Some time after 1907, the Phoenix Brewery (re)built the Woolpack pub on nearby Birch Street.
