Brickwoods Ltd: Acquisition History
- Tessier & Co in 1887. Brickwoods then used it until they moved to Portsea.
- Dormer Jewell & Son in 1899 with 72 houses. Rebuilt and renamed the Portsmouth Brewery.
- Lion Brewery (Portsmouth) Ltd in 1910.
- Pike, Spicer & Co. Ltd of Portsmouth in 1910 and was closed.
- James Garland Duffett of Ryde IOW in 1921.
- Perkins & Sons Ltd of Southampton in 1925.
- Forder & Co. Ltd of Southampton in 1925 with 25 public houses.
- Blake & Co. Ltd of Gosport in 1926. Name changed to Blake Properties Ltd. in 1927 and brewing continued until 1935.
- Aldridge & Son Ltd of Southampton with c.50 houses in 1927 and brewing ceased 1930 but bottling continued until 1968.
- Sprake Brothers, Chale IOW in 1928 with 6 tied houses.
- Barlow & Co. Ltd of Southampton with c.46 houses in 1929 and brewing ceased.
- Long & Co. Ltd of Southsea in 1933 when brewing ceased.
- Amey's Brewery Ltd of Petersfield in February 1952.
- Portsmouth & Brighton United Breweries Ltd in 1953 with 271 tied houses. Brewing continued until 1962 when it was converted into a mineral water factory and operated as part of Brickwoods.
