Belchers Brewery, c/o Grosvenor Inns PLC, The Old Schoolhouse, London Road, Shenley, Hertfordshire.

Brew pub chain established in 1990 by David Bruce who originally started the Firkin chain of brewpubs on which they were clearly modelled.

In 1994, the company was sold to Grosvenor Inns and by 1999 only one outlet was still brewing.

The pubs were taken over by Scottish & Newcastle at the beginning of 2000 and brewing ceased.

Brewing commenced 1990. Closed 2000 and plant sold to Cuckmere Haven Brewery.


Belchers Brewery, Sutton, Hedgehog & Hogshead, 2 High Street, Sutton, Surrey.

Brewing commenced 1995 but ceased Summer 1998.


Belchers Brewery, Southampton, Hedgehog & Hogshead, 163 University Road, Southampton, Hampshire.

Brewing commenced Autumn 1990 and closed 1999.
