Beer & Co, Original Brewery, Broad Street, Canterbury, Kent.

Founded c.1770 at St Augustine’s.

Original Brewery built 1848.

Alfred Beer declared bankrupt in 1891. The brewery and its estate was auctioned in 1892 and was acquired by Alfred Walton, a hop merchant of Southwark who sold it two years later to B C Bushell & Co of Westerham, see Bushell, Watkins & Smith Ltd, together with some other licensed houses in Kent which he owned.

The brewery premises were sold to Idris & Co, Mineral Water Manufacturers in 1899.
