The brewery and its estate was auctioned in 1892 and was acquired by Alfred Walton, a hop merchant of Southwark who sold it two years later to B C Bushell & Co of Westerham, see [[Bushell, Watkins & Smith Ltd]], together with some other licensed houses in Kent which he owned.  


Brewing ceased 1899.
The brewery premises were sold to Idris & Co, Mineral Water Manufacturers in 1899.

Alfred Beer declared bankrupt in 1891. The brewery and its estate was auctioned in 1892 and was acquired by Alfred Walton, a hop merchant of Southwark who sold it two years later to B C Bushell & Co of Westerham, see Bushell, Watkins & Smith Ltd, together with some other licensed houses in Kent which he owned.
