Founded in June 1979 by Mark Wallington in a former Great Western Railway shed. Initially a full-mash 12-barrel Peter Austin plant.

Brewing ceased here in 1996 when the brewery moved premises.

Brewing commenced in 1996 following the move.

The site was a re-creation of a Victorian tower brewery in the old locomotive weighing house of the old Swindon Locomotive Works. It was purchased by pub owning group Burns Leisure in 1999 and for a period in 2000 took on the brewing of the group owned Hoskins Ltd beers.
