Founded by Benjamin Hallawell in 1851 and sold to John Young & Co. in 1860.
Registered April 1897 with 39 houses and 31 off-licences.
Acquired by the Kirkstall Brewery Co Ltd in 1927 and brewing ceased in 1933.
Demolished 1939 and site now Merrion Centre.
