Founded 1837. Registered May 1891 to acquire W.B.Reid & Co, Leazes Brewery; Reid Brothers & Co, wine and spirit merchants, Newcastle and the licensed houses belonging to the Tyne Brewery Co. Ltd. Acquired by William Younger & Co. Ltd. 1956 with 154 tied houses.
