Founded 1840 as the West Auckland Joint Stock Brewery Co.

Went into liquidation 1877 and was bought in January 1878 by a group of brewers and maltsters headed by J W Cameron & Co. Ltd.

Acquired by J.W.Cameron & Co. Ltd. 1959 with 70/80 public houses.

Ceased brewing 1962.
