Joseph Monk, The Black Horse, Foxton, Leicestershire..

According to Harborough in Camera (Plate 133), the Black Horse brewed in 1870, when Monk was running the pub. Prior to this it had been run by Benjamin Goodrich from around 1846.

The brewhouse was to the left of the pub.

From 1884 to 1894 Mrs Henrietta Monk was running the pub, which was rebuilt in 1900 and is now supplied by Marstons PLC.
