Opened June 2006. It was originally a retirement project for three home-brewers by the names of Ken, Bob and Nick, whose love of beer led them to venture further into the world of brewing.
In 2006 Magpie Brewery found its nesting place, sheltered beneath the County ground, and hours of brewing (and tasting!) commenced. In 2017 the brewery was upgraded from a 6 barrel plant to 20 barrels per brew.
Magpie certainly isn’t the fledgling it once was, with the addition of three pubs, Crafty Crow, Barrel Drop and Doctor’s Orders. In 2019 The Crafty Warehouse bottle shop and taproom were established next to the brewhouse.
