Fined in 1895 for adding sugar to his wort.
The Nicholls family ran this home-brew pub for most of the 19th century. 1851-1892: Benjamin, Samuel and Joseph Nicholls.

The Nicholls family ran this home-brew pub for most of the 19th century. 1851-1892: Benjamin, Samuel and Joseph Nicholls.

Then Joseph Harper (1892-1899); John Turner (1899-1919).

Acquired by Julia Hanson & Sons Ltd in 1937.

Pub closed 2009 and converted to other uses.
