Mitchells of Lancaster (Brewers) Ltd, Central Brewery, 11 Moor Lane, Lancaster, Lancashire

Mitchells of Lancaster (Brewers) Ltd, Old Brewery, Brewery Lane, Brock Street, Lancaster, Lancashire


Founded in 1861 when William Mitchell leased the Black Horse Inn with brewery attached.

Central Brewery established in 1882.

Registered as above in 1965.

Brewing was transferred to the Old Brewery after Yates & Jackson Ltd's closure in 1984.

Ceased brewing in 1999. By 2011, the buildings were under threat of demolition.

Mitchell Hotels acquired the York Brewery in 2008.
