The Sparkbrook premises were to be merged into the Staffordshire United Breweries Ltd. which was to be registered in 1896. However, this appears not to have floated and the brewery was later sold to Rushtons c.1902. He then acquired the late G F Flinn's Handsworth Brewery in 1899 and was listed at both sites. Day, also known as John Stirling Day, remained in business until his death in 1912.
