Northampton Brewery Co. Ltd, Phoenix Brewery, 116 Bridge Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire.
Brewery built 1856 for Thomas Phillips, later owner of the Dock Brewery, Newport, Gwent, (see Phillips & Sons Ltd). Registered in February 1887.
They acquired the following brewery companies:
- Allen & Burnett, Lion Brewery, Northampton. Acquired 1890 and the brewery demolished.
- Percy Hall, St Giles Brewery, Oxford. Acquired 1898 with 4 public houses.
- W J East & Co. Ltd, Milton Malsor. Acquired 1904 with about 8 houses.
- Eady & Dulley Ltd, Market Harborough. Acquired in 1929 with 42 houses. Brewery demolished that year.
- Phillips Stamford Brewery Ltd. Acquired in 1952 with 70 public houses and brewing ceased.
Merged with Phipps & Co. Ltd in 1957 with 420 tied houses. Brewing ceased in May 1974 and the brewery was demolished. A new Carlsberg-Tetley brewery was built on the site.
