Hand Brewery, 17 Well Street, Ruthin, Denbighshire / Clwyd
Dating from the 17th century, there are records of brewing from 1720. Thomas Jones brewed here in 1825; Edward Hughes in 1851; William Edwards in 1867; Foulkes & Co in 1882; Benjamin Trimmer in 1888.
Robert Roberts acquired the brewery and tap in about 1890. Roberts had previously brewed at the Corporation Arms (Ruthin). He expanded the brewery and bought several public houses. Roberts died in 1923.
Acquired by Ind Coope Ltd. 1917. Some buildings survive.
